My Work

"For Greenwood"

A braided CNF essay about growing up in Jersey and going to college in the midwest, choir auditions and ninja swords, car rides with my daughter and protests.

You can read it in Pangyrus.

"Thief"

An episodic flash that follows a girl named Stella from age eight to twenty-two. Threads twist and turn throughout her life and each episode holds a few strands at a time.

You can read it in South Florida Poetry Journal.

"About Zane"

An epistolary flash where a grandfather writes to his grandson's middle school English teacher about his poor grades, tardies, and all those weird characters he keeps drawing.

You can read it in (Mac)ro(Mic).

"We Became Like Them"

A lyrical flash inspired by the church I grew up in, which was founded by Jesus People Movement in the 1960s and '70s.

You can watch me read the piece at the Quiet Lightning Mixtape recording.

"The Cardinal's Call"

A one-scene flash where a wife must decide if she will support her husband no matter the cost.

You can read this piece in Rathalla Review.

"Thick, Curly Hair"

A poetic memoir that celebrates my daughter's beautiful hair.

You can read this CNF piece in Heartwood Lit Magazine.
